Special Linear Groups Generated by Transvections and Embedded Projective Spaces

A characterization is given of the ‘special linear groups’ T({Psi}, W) as linear groups generated by a non-degenerate class {Sigma} of abstract root groups such that the elements of A isin {Sigma} are transvections.
