A Productive Class of Angelic Spaces

W. Govaerts

Rijksuniversiteit Gent, Seminarie voor hogere analyse Galglaan 2, B-9000 Gent, Belgium

The class of strictly angelic spaces is introduced as a natural subclass of the angelic spaces. They form a countably productive class with ideal compactness properties and can be used in theorems of Eberlein-Smulian type and related applications. Spaces of continuous functions with the point-wise topology are the main subject of investigation. Much attention is also paid to L1, (X, µ) and L{infty}(X, µ) under special topologies.
