K-Theoretic Properties of Generic Matrix Rings

Let R2, n be the ring of n generic 2 x 2 matrices over a field of characteristic zero. We show that K0(R2, 2) ~= Z, K0(R2, 3) nsime Z and K1(R2, 2)~= k {oplus} A, where A is a free abelian group of infinite rank.
